finally packing my bags, cos i have been converted.

well the thing is, i was harping on the idea of getting a new skin, but obviously that was not working out cos it never happened. than i tried converting to a xangarian that did not work to cos of pure laziness.

so now here you have me converting to wordpress.

it is undecided as to whether i will fully abandon this blog but do stick around.

thats the whole idea!

to take carpe diem and place it in your palms and slowly analyse it for what it is. okay, there is some sinister cloud hanging above my head. the eyes feels dilated, the body feels sore and weak. then the questions raises itself in my head. oh i do not want to go there. let's play slow motion for one day so you could realise what an asshole you have been.

i know i have been plugging alot about siobhan donaghy in my posts. but i can't help but feel a tinge of anticipation each time she does something new. her second album is long overdue and she has been keeping her fans on tenterhooks by only handing out snippets of what she is currently doing. head on down to her myspace to listen to the new track, ghosts. this tracks boasts a very typical question, how is she gonna perform this live? hmm. that is cause for a pause.

the track weaves weird african chants and a wicked drumbeat. often, her voice is rarely heard, more like a background to the song. but somehow it meshes together to produce quite the rare siobhan track. but for those loyal fans who bought her first effort would often associate the song to suasex (a song that too weaves, snippets of a spanish telemarketer's conversation with another person). if you ever get the chance to listen to suasex you would know what i mean. but yeah, i was one of those who associated ghosts with suasex.

siobhan donaghy is definitely making inroads in her own little way. and i do hope that parlophone is truly taking their time to groom her.

another return i'm looking forward to is, the return of all saints. their comeback single, rock steady is quite the catchy and a relatively strong comeback song.

this people, the the new boeing 777ER. this beauty belongs to singapore airlines. isn't obvious. it has the capacity to take more people and travel further in the future even replacing SIA's A345, covering the SIN-EWR(Newark) route. Hopefully the interior will be as comfy as the A345.

i start this entry with a corny chip in the old writer's block.

we build dreams and aspirations only to let it fall into oblivion. but that is what we do. dream a little dream. i do not know for sure whether fixate and celluloid or indiemind and "garb" will ever materialise but soon, one day, i hope.

six degrees.

i have been wanting to do a proper mention about this spanking new abc tv show. so here it is. not much can be thought about six degrees, at first watch that is. the show starts off with the routine dialogue session with the main character, jay hernandenz. he talks about faith, and spontaneous interactions that may pop out of nowhere. he by the way, sports a very ho-hum life till, a certain erika christensen (mae) steps into his life. now don't go thinking that the show continues on with just these two characters. there is all sorts of characters with all sorts of problems as per usu. there is that power welding PR exec, Whitney. and the lovelost housewife. at the end of the first episode, you kinda feel for the characters in this show and want to continue knowing their stories. six degrees is a show about twists of fate and the fact that we are all connected by no less than six people. it is a kind of refreshing concept but familiar in a way. all i can say is, can't wait for the second episode.

carler werner- pure things in wild places.

carler werner is back, with her second effort after departure. departure was a emotionally driven album with strong, hard-hitting lyrics accompanied by melodies that fitted them lyrics well. pure things in wild places is, i am afraid, a far cry from departure. there is a wide gap between these two albums. you could tell that departure had this mainstream feel to it, with big producers and a huge record company to boot. pure things in wild places is solely produced by carlar werner. hence the close intimate sense to it. you could almost feel all of her emotions pouring into these songs. the ep opens with the slow driftwood that gives you the imagery that you are truly a driftwood in an open lake. into the night continues the flow of the album. however, this album was a tad bit hard to settle into. so much is expected of sophomore efforts that when they do not deliver, you kind of get frustrated. there are some words to describe this album however, quiet. in a serene kinda way. it is organic, sometimes with just lyrics, voice and a guitar to accompany each other. haunting, with songs like ghost road. this album is definitely a grower.

rest. is the most important part of someone's life. we all need rest. be it just a short 20 minutes nap is suffice to keep the body moving throughout the day.

so what happpens when your body is lacking of rest, u fall ill. duh!

in the clear by ivy is one sublime album. this album has a smooth flow of guitars and ambient sounds. you do not know whether or not go groove or just rock out. i think it is a fine balance of both. and how apt of them to represent the album with just a plane window in mid-air. because that is exactly what you get.

back to them indieroots!

delving into the vault of very underrated great movies once again. and i found this movie, gosford park.

now i've heard alot about this movie. i think somehwhere in 2005-4? it was one of the least celebrated movies at the oscars that year simply because i think it was overshadowed by greater big movies like the hours and chicago. i never got to watching it until the time permitted me to.

this movie and the era its suppose to be set in was just perfect. picture this. a group of 1930s socialites of old london gathers at the house of gosford for a shooting party. there's the head of the house, his wives, his daugther, his business partners and his sister. there is also the hollywood producer, hollywood star and the maids, butlers and servants.

hierachies are abound and very present in this movie. what goes on above, i.e the dinner seating, the after dinner gatherings, goes on below. in the chambers of the servers, butlers and maids. its all intricately woven into is one house, gosford park.

as the stories unfold, scandals are revealed. gossips are rife. till suddenly the head of the house gets murdered.

its murder mystery at its best with a great cast!

watch it.
